Perfect Wave Gallery is the artistic creation of me, Paul Manning. Since beginning in Sydney in 2004 my mission has been to create images that capture moments that make you smile. Now based on the Gold Coast, the mission is the same and the ways are expanding. Perfect Wave Gallery now has 4 channels of smiles:

Back to the story: Why Photography?

To capture moments, when I'm there, wherever that may be. Perfect Wave Gallery started after the 2004 Indonesian Tsunami, I wanted to build a story of living by the ocean in Maroubra, Sydney. The Sunday Longrun started at the end of 2020 from the incredible response to my photos from the RatPack running club that my son Josh runs with and being asked to photograph the GC50 Running Festival on the Gold Coast where we live. My mission has become to capture and share images that make you smile.

Perfect Wave Galley and The Sunday Longrun combine 3 passions for me, photography, the ocean and running. Since embarking on my photography journey in 2004, my work, Josh's running and Ben's paddling provided the opportunity to travel and that travel created the opportunity to run in, explore, learn about and photograph incredible places around the world, and that has sparked the passion to explore more and share the beauty of this world. One of my most amazing experiences was running in Lumphini Park in Bangkok that was such a electic mix of people out enjoying the fresh air with every time of movement you can imagine from every corner of the planet! People are just people and I love photographing the mix and emotion of people coming together to see what they can achieve - its the power of sport to bring people together.

Via my photography I hope I can bring a smile, at the beauty of the world around us, at a moment of achievement captured, and inspire movement and personal achievement. This for me is what Perfect Wave Gallery and The Sunday Longrun are all about!
